Here’s how to help kids with cancer by cleaning out your closet

Share

Do you know a child who’s battling cancer? Do you have handbags that you no longer use?

This year, BC charity Team4Hope is returning to mix fashion and compassion to support kids with cancer, and you can participate!

The charity is holding their Handbags for Hope event to raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and Neuroblastoma research.

The project starts with a donation drive in the Mayfair Shopping Centre in January, before ending with an event night in February.

2020 marks Team for Hope’s 10 year anniversary and will mark the end of this amazing event.

People looking to help can look through their closets and donate any gently used handbags, jewelry, or scarves to the charity.

Donations can be dropped off near the Toys ‘R’ Us in the Mayfair Shopping Centre on January 11, 12, 18, and 20th.

After donations have been collected, the Handbags for Hope event night will take place. People looking for a classy and altruistic night can join Team4Hope at the Empress Hotel on February 28td for a silent auction.

The auction will include designer handbags plus a general sale of new and gently used handbags, jewelry, and scarves.

Tickets for the evening go on sale online here on January 20th, and 100% of their proceeds will go towards the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and Neuroblastoma research.
