If you’re a fan of glamour, excitement, and sassiness, then January 2020 is sure to be an exciting month.
Victoria is hosting not one but two amazing drag shows this month, featuring multiple All-Star performers from the hit TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race!
On January 10th, breakout star BenDaLaCreme hosts a variety show at the MacPherson Playhouse, and two weeks later, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Monét X Change and Crystal will star in the second iteration of the incredibly popular “It’s Just Drag” show!
BenDeLaCreme featured on the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, finishing fifth and winning the “Miss Congeniality” award as the season’s nicest and most helpful drag queen, before appearing once again in the third season of RuPaul’s All-Star Drag Race.
She joins forces with the award-winning, Seattle-based burlesque troupe Mod Carousel for a “Vivacious Variety Show” on January 10th. The show is co-hosted by local legend Betsy Bottom Dollar, and also features local performers Cherry Cheeks, Vivian Vanderpuss, and Champagne Sparkles (among many others).
Hosted at the 772-seat McPherson Playhouse, VIP tickets are also available for those interested in a private meet-and-greet with the drag star!
Just 13 days later, Victoria will be graced once more with the incredible talents of Monét X Change, Brooke Lynn Hytes, and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Crystal for ‘It’s Just Drag’.
Last year’s debut of ‘It’s Just Drag’ in Victoria was held at the McPherson Playhouse and sold out within 24 hours of tickets going on sale. This year, the show will be hosted at the larger Royal Theatre.
In addition to the RuPaul stars and a menagerie of local artists, the cast will consist of 10 travelling Canadian drag stars, all introduced and hosted by Vancouver-based drag queen Joan-E.
