V2V Vacations, the luxury ferry service from Victoria’s inner harbour to downtown Vancouver, has announced they will cease service immediately.
The company, which launched three years ago, said they will not return to service in 2020.
“V2V Vacations has made the difficult decision to cease service after three years’ operation, with immediate effect,” Julian Wright, general manager of V2V Vacations, said in a statement.
“While efforts have been made over the past number of years to develop the service successfully with phenomenal double-digit growth in 2019, the financial prospects remain unsatisfactory to sustain the business. Our continued operation is simply not economically viable.”
The 242-seat catamaran will remain docked in Victoria. No details were provided on what would happen with the vessel.
