Are you ready to rock, Victoria?
Supergroup Cream took the British music scene by storm during the psychedelic 1960’s – the explosion of talent consisted of bassist Jack Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker.
Cream was a formation like no other – the blueprint for every super group to follow and the heavy blues precursor to Hendrix, Zeppelin and so much more.
Kofi Baker (son of Ginger) and Will Johns (nephew of Eric and son of Zeppelin/Stones/ Hendrix engineer Andy) have united with master musicians Sean McNabb and Chris Shutters to unleash the lightning that electrified a generation – and bring the Music of Cream back to life.
More than 50 years since their earth-shattering arrival, their pedigree has come together to honour the legendary band’s landmark album, Disraeli Gears – and they will be hitting the stage of Victoria’s McPherson Playhouse on Friday, February 28th.
Along with the legendary music, the show features storytelling, photographs and integrated videos, many of which have not been seen before, so that even the most diehard fans are guaranteed a night to remember.
And with the recent passing of Ginger Baker, The Music of Cream looks forward to sharing Cream’s incomparable music with fans, new and old, to keep the trio’s legacy alive.
This unique project began in 2017 to celebrate Cream’s 50th Anniversary in Australia and New Zealand. After an incredible response, the band has since played over one hundred of these shows to tens of thousands of fans, across North America and the U.K.
The Music of Cream will be hitting the road once more this year with a brand new show and lineup – performing Cream’s seminal album, Disraeli Gears, from top to bottom, followed by ‘Clapton Classics’ including hits like “Cocaine,” “Layla” “Crossroads,” and“Wonderful Tonight” along with other Cream hits and rarities that fans have been asking for.
Tickets for this legendary showing are still available, but they won’t last long – grab them online so you don’t miss out on a show you’re sure never to forget!
