You couldn’t go many places in 2004 without hearing the Bedouin Soundclash’s “When the Night Feels My Song.”

Now, you can relive those blissful early 2000s memories by heading to the Capital Ballroom on Friday night!

Here are five things to do in and around Victoria this Friday, February 7th.

Bedouin Soundclash at the Capital Ballroom

After a seven year hiatus, Bedouin Soundclash has re-emerged! Fifteen years after their hit single “When The Night Feels My Song,” their fifth studio album +MASS- was released in early 2019. The album is a powerful experience that spans two communities, recorded in New Orleans and in Vancouver. The experienced band has a phenomenal live show, and they’re bringing it to Victoria this Friday!

Opening Gala of the Victoria Film Festival

Dress in a slit so high someone might get a nosebleed. Or wear a back so low – well, that’s the point. Sparkle up your diamonds, grab your tiara (here’s looking at you Bob), and let the glamour be your guide!

Victoria Royals vs. Kamloops Blazers

The Victoria Royals play their first of two games against the Kamloops Blazer on Friday night. They’re returning to the Save-On-Foods Arena after nearly a month on the road. The road trip didn’t go as expected, but the team can right the ship with some good home performances!

  • When: Doors at 6:00 p.m., puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
  • Where: Save-On-Foods Arena, 1925 Blanshard Street

Revisor at the Royal Theatre

Written by Jonathon Young and choreographed and directed by Crystal Pite, Revisor satirizes the greed, pettiness and corruption of the citizens of a small town who mistake a low-level clerk for a high-ranking government inspector from the city. Soon the entire community is wining, dining, and bribing him with wads of cash.

  • Where: Royal Theatre, 805 Broughton Street
