We’re almost halfway through the month, and the days are – slowly, but surely – getting longer.. which means more time for fun events!

Whether you’re testing your knowledge of obscure facts or belting out your favourite tune at open mic night, this Monday has all you need and more to make it a fantastic one.

Christie’s Pub Monday Night Trivia

Four rounds of complete random obscure knowledge including movies, music, sports, science, geography and possible things found in a hardware store …who knows!

Movie Monday: Why Am I Here w/Special Guest

Julius Maslovat is a child survivor of the Holocaust and is the youngest prisoner on record in Buchenwald concentration camp.

The documentary was directed and edited by Chorong Kim and produced by Helga Thorson, an Associate Professor of Germanic Studies at the University of Victoria. It was recently shown, as a world premiere, at the Victoria International Jewish Film Festival. B.C.

Open Mic Night at The Mint

Come showcase your talent, whether it’s music, comedy, dance, spoken word, or poetry… you name it! Host Pete McMastar will be bringing some instruments to get some jams going!

KWENCH Speaker Series: Mandy Len Catron

Join New York Times author and TED speaker, Mandy Len Catron, for an interactive evening of drinks and conversation exploring her hugely popular article ‘To Fall in Love with Anyone, Do This’.

Her writing can be found in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Guardian, The Rumpus, and The Walrus as well as other newspapers, literary journals, and anthologies.

Community Arts Program

The Community Arts Program is a low-barrier, cost free program for adults looking to express themselves through drawing, painting, crafts, etc. They are stocked with supplies and our volunteers will assist you in your creative journey.

  • Where: Downtown Community Centre, 755 Pandora Avenue
  • When: 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. – doors close at 3:30 p.m.
