Two vehicles were damaged in a fire near Island Savings Bank at Mayfair mall on Thursday afternoon.

Three Victoria Fire Department vehicles and Saanich Fire crews were deployed to attend the vehicle fire at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Fortunately, there were no injuries as a result of the blaze but two two vehicles sustained damage.

According to a witness, the owner of one of the vehicles had recently gotten it serviced at a dealership before pulling into the parking lot where it caught fire.

“The stench of burning vehicle could be smelled inside the mall as the vents were pulling in air,” he told Victoria Buzz.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
