Suspect sought after 17-year-old girl sexually assaulted after exiting bus in Royal Oak

A 17-year-old girl was the victim of a sexual assault on Thursday after she got off a bus in Saanich, police say.

The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. after the teenager exited the bus at the Royal Oak Exchange.

The girl was first approached by a man on a BC Transit bus who began engaging her in
conversation. When she exited the bus, he followed her and began to make unwanted sexual advancements towards her, including unwanted touching.

Police say the teen was not physically injured during the sexual assault and has been offered various resources.

The suspect is described as a male who is believed to be about 30-years-old. He has a dark complexion and is around 5’7″ tall and had black hair.

He was clean-shaven and was wearing skinny jeans and spoke with an accent. It is believed English is not his first language.
