Beer, cider, and spirit lovers unite! Victoria’s annual Beer and Spirits Festival is in town for the 11th year in a row bringing 20 breweries, cideries, and distilleries from all over Vancouver Island to the provincial capital.
This event is perfect for anyone looking to sample the island’s best brews.
Some highlights
One of the vendors in attendance will be Valley Cider Company, nestled in the apple-abundant region of the Cowichan Valley. According to them, “it would be criminal not to make cider here.” If you find yourself unable to choose between beer and spirits, their Ginnish brew might be the one for you.
Victoria’s own Vancouver Island Brewing will of course be present. Last year, they had two of their beers featured on BC Ale Trail’s 2019 list of winter brews.
Comox’s New Tradition Brewing Company just opened in August of 2019. Their beers come with lighthearted names like Juice Caboose and Cure for the Common Kolsch. They bill their Liquid Tuxedo as a “blue-collar James Bond.”
There will be featured drinks from both Phillips Brewing Company and Phillips Fermentorium. The latter’s gin is made with herbs hand-foraged right here in BC.

Priced at $25, the cost of admission includes two 4oz beer/cider tasters or one 0.5oz spirit taster, as well as something to eat.
