Sharpen your skates, Victoria!

Not only will we be treated to a rare matinee Royals game this Sunday, you’ll have a chance to hit the ice with current team for one of their most loved traditions – Skate with the Players!

WHL stars, and maybe even a few future National Hockey League players, will join fans immediately following the contest for a post-game skate.

The Victoria Royals will return home from the road on Saturday for their last two of three games in a row – all versus the Vancouver Giants.

After the Royals battle the Vancouver Giants in a Saturday and Sunday set this weekend, the Barn on Blanshard will stay open for the post-game skate Sunday evening.

With a few new faces joining the Royals during the off season, now is the time to be out sharing a fresh sheet of ice and a leisurely skate while meeting the new guys.

The skate generally lasts around 45 minutes, and skate rentals are available.

The Royals have a jam-packed schedule coming up, including three games in three days – they face the Vancouver Giants on Friday in Langley, then two back-to-back contests versus the Giants at home on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday night’s puck drop is slotted for 7:05 p.m. at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, when the Victoria Royals have partnered with Canadian Mental Health Association – BC Division (CMHA) for a mental health awareness game.

Sunday’s game is scheduled for 3:05 p.m with the Royals only Skate with the Players event of the season happening immediately afterwards!

The Royals will also be hosting their second Super Smash Bros Esports Tournament prior to Sunday’s game, and tickets for both games are still available.
