Victoria Reconciliation Dialogues #4: Sir John A. Macdonald in Conversation

This conversation will open with a theatrical presentation to introduce the complex life and work of Sir John A. Macdonald. Participants will be asked to consider the politics of, and appropriate context for, monuments to controversial historical figures, including the City of Victoria’s Sir John A. Macdonald statue.

Celtic Illusion

Coming to Canada for the very first time after an Australian sell-out in 2017, the much-anticipated family event of 2020, Celtic Illusion is the biggest dance and magical illusion sensation that has been taking audiences by storm.

With incredible new choreography, spellbinding magic, heart-racing music and a sensory experience like no other, audiences will be kept on the edge of their seats and left wanting more.

Home Grown

As a performer, Danika Loren has played a wide variety of roles on the stage of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, and in concert halls across the country. She holds a master’s degree in Opera from the University of Toronto, and has studied with J. Patrick Raftery and Wendy Nielsen. As a composer, Danika has completed a songbook, First Fig, of 20 original songs set to text by North American female poets. She has also recently completed her first opera, an adaptation of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler.

Open Mic Night at The Collective Wine Bar & Kitchen

Small donations from performers are appreciated and all proceeds will go to subsidizing music lesson fees for low-income families.
The stage is very small, so there is only a keyboard, mics, and amplification available at this time.
