Among the list of essential workers during the growing coronavirus pandemic, frontline health care workers near the top – along with grocery store workers, delivery drivers, first responders and more.
The local community has recently shown them that their hard work and dedication during these trying times has not gone unnoticed.
From several people – including children – holding signs outside staff entrances thanking healthcare workers for their service, to local shops providing much-needed transportation and deliveries, and even Victoria Police saluting workers outside of the emergency room, our community has rallied together to show appreciation to those who need it most right now.
And this is exactly why local cannabis retailer High5 wants to extend that appreciation – by giving you the chance to win a $50 VISA gift card for you AND your favourite frontline worker!
The people that make up our best defense to contain and mitigate this epidemic also face the highest risk of becoming infected themselves: patient-facing health care workers, grocery store employees, and other frontline essential workers.
How to best support, manage, and protect these individuals remains an open question, but as a compassionate community, we can do so the only way we know how – and a little extra love is always nice!
