ICBC has announced Tuesday that, effective immediately, they are cancelling all road tests and we will reassess in two weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Autoplan insurance as well as ICBC claims will be also be affected for the time being.
As the COVID-19 situation is evolving, the crown corporation is looking to continue to take steps to ensure the health and safety of their employees, customers and partners.
The changes in various departments are as follows:
Effective immediately, all road tests will be cancelled – ICBC will reassess in two weeks. There will be no cancellation fees for these bookings.
If you have a road test you need to cancel or reschedule, you can do so online. You can also call the Driver Licensing department at 1-800-950-1498 or 250-978-8300 to make these changes.
Every customer that visits an ICBC Driver Licensing Office will be asked COVID-19 screening questions, and if a customer responds yes to any of the questions, ICBC will ask you to return at a later date.
As of today, Autoplan insurance services are no longer available at ICBC’s head office.
If your insurance is due to expire, ICBC advises to call Autoplan broker. Most brokers may also be able to help customers by phone in certain circumstances.
Also effective immediately, appointments and drop-in visits are limited to urgent transactions only at all Claim Centres.
