A Nanaimo man was airlifted to a Victoria Hospital this afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a motor vehicle.
The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m., near the intersection of Wentworth and Terminal Avenues.
According to RCMP, the motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Victoria-based hospital. The driver of the motor vehicle involved received only minor injuries.
The collision has forced the closure of Terminal Avenue in both directions, between Comox Avenue and Commercial Avenue.
Police said the closure will be in effect for an indeterminate period of time while investigators investigate the crash scene.
