Nanaimo RCMP search for missing 78-year-old woman who may be in Victoria

Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public’s help in locating a missing senior significant medical health issues.

78-year-old Margaret St. Denis of Nanaimo was last seen seen at around 3 p.m. today.

She was last seen at the Terminal Park Mall by caregivers, who told police she became increasingly agitated and was seen throwing her belongings on the ground, then quickly walking away from the Mall parking lot.

The caregivers attempted to locate her but were unsuccessful. The Nanaimo RCMP were contacted and immediately commenced searching for her.

Police believe St. Denis may have attempted to get to Victoria.

She is described as Caucasian, standing 5 ft. 8, heavy set and has short grey hair. She was last seen wearing a green sweater, grey capri pants.

She was not carrying any identification and may have a limited amount of cash. St. Denis’s last known address is on Gabriola Island and investigators have alerted officers there, and friends, to be on the look out for her.

Police said she is considered quite resourceful and may attempt to make her way to Victoria.
