VicPD have arrested one man after responding to reports of an explosion this afternoon in an apartment building.

Just after 1:30 p.m. today, Friday, March 6th, patrol officers, along with Victoria Fire Department firefighters, were called to a multi-unit residential building in the 200-block of Gorge Road East.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the windows to one of the units were blown out, and the attending Victoria Fire Department firefighters then determined there had been no fire.

Luckily, there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

VicPd attending officers did locate a man at the scene, who was wanted on outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody, though his arrest today is not directly linked to the explosion that occurred

Police are still unclear as to what caused the explosion, and the investigation into this incident remains ongoing.
