Quality Foods offers special shopping hours for seniors amid coronavirus concerns

Share

A local grocery store chain is looking to extend a helping hand to the most vulnerable amidst the growing COVID-19 epidemic.

Beginning on Monday, March 23rd all Quality Foods locations will open at 7 a.m. to allow senior citizens along with other vulnerable members of the community to shop for two hours – before opening to the general public.

The store’s hours officially change next week on Monday, March 23rd to allow for staffing adjustments, but Quality Foods is still encouraging customers who fall into the above categories to shop prior to 9 a.m., effective immediately.

Members of the general public are urged to reserve this time for those more vulnerable shoppers going forward, and only visit their stores after 9 a.m.

“We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we try and do our part to help minimize risk, to our senior and health compromised shoppers, in this ever-evolving situation,” Quality Foods said in a Facebook post.

“Please share this information with elderly family and friends, to help us spread the word!”
