One man has been taken into custody this evening after discharging a firearm outdoors in a public setting.
West Shore RCMP were called to the 2800 block of Peatt Road in Langford at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Thursday evening, for reports of a male suspect who had discharged a gun.
While the incident was ongoing, members of the public were being asked to avoid the area near Peatt Road and Hockley Avenue, and one witness reported hearing several shots.
The Emergency Response Team were immediately deployed to the area along with West Shore RCMP officers, and they were able to track the suspect down to an apartment unit near the location.
The suspect remains in custody after being arrested by police, and the investigation is on-going.
West Shore RCMP have stated that there were no injuries reported in this incident, and the public remains safe at this time.
