Traffic cops seize weapons, drugs from suspicious vehicle in Victoria

Traffic police from the Victoria Police department seized a significant amount of firearms and drugs after stopping a suspicious vehicle on Tuesday.

According to a statement from VicPD, traffic cops stopped the vehicle at 10:30 a.m. on May 26 in the 200-block of Gorge Road East.

Further inspection revealed that the vehicle, occupied by two men and one woman, had critical defects and was not safe to drive.

The officers searched the vehicle before having it towed.

This search yielded three firearms, a case containing about a dozen knives, swords, improvised weapons, and dischargeable flares, along with approximately 300 hydromorphone pills.

There is no information yet on whether the occupants of the vehicle were charged with any crimes.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
