Nearly a month after neighbouring Butchart Gardens announced their reopening, a popular Victoria attraction has resumed welcoming visitors.

The Butterfly Gardens in Brentwood Bay is accepting visitors again as of May 27 after a temporary period of pandemic-induced shut down.

“We are thrilled to re-open our doors,” said Marketing Manager, Jeff Wright.

“The Victoria Butterfly Gardens offers a great opportunity to families looking for educational homeschooling opportunities, as well as anyone looking to explore our natural world or just to have a fun day out, in a space with many coronavirus prevention protocols in place.”

Like all other businesses that are starting to resume operations in the second phase of British Columbia’s restart plan, the Butterfly Gardens have a plan in place to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 transmission in the premises.

These include limiting the number of people inside, turning back any visitors who have symptoms of cold or flu, enforcing physical distancing rules, instating a “no-touch” policy for surfaces in the gardens, disinfecting benches hourly, and more.

The Butterfly Gardens are now open everyday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with last entry at 3 p.m.
