A long time Saanich resident is hoping the public can help track down a pair of diamond earrings “of high sentimental value to the family”, that were stolen from her vehicle Sunday afternoon.
On June 21, a woman returned to her vehicle after shopping at the Saanich Centre located near the intersection of Quadra Street and McKenzie Avenue, to discover that her purse and various other valuables had been stolen from her vehicle.
According to police, the woman, who reported the theft around 2 p.m., had finished shopping and returned her cart to the designated area – just 25 yards away – when she came to her car to find that her purse and other belongings missing.
The stolen items include identification, money, an iPhone, keys and a pair of diamond earrings.

“Officers from our Patrol Division are investigating this case and we are working hard to
recover the items,” said Det. Sgt. Damian Kowalewich of the Saanich Police Department.
“We are reminding residents to always lock your valuables up, no matter how long you may be away from them.”
