Canada Day celebrations are going virtual across the nation, and we’re here to bring you a (safe) version of our own!
Victoria Buzz has partnered with the Mary Winspear Centre along with the Town of Sidney, Sidney BIA, and Peninsula Celebrations Society to proudly present Canada Day Live from the Mary Winspear Centre: A Virtual Celebration.
That’s right, you can celebrate the magic and majesty of Canada’s 153rd birthday from the comfort of your very own home; no crowds, no worrying about parking AND plenty of physical distancing (make sure to use that line when you don’t want to share the snacks!)
Even better, Mary Winspear Centre is giving away an awesome prize pack including 2 tickets to Aaron Pritchett, 2 tickets to Alex Cuba, 2 tickets to Valdy, a $100 gift card for dinner in Sidney plus some MWC swag – contest details are below!
Not only will the virtual celebration include performances by the talented Michael Kaeshammer, Ryan McMahon, Caleb Hart, Sunny Shams and Edie Daponte, the video will feature so much more!
You’ll have a Peninsula Celebrations Society Flag Ceremony to look forward to, along with messages from the community, and a look back at past Sidney Canada Day celebrations.
The virtual celebration means that everyone across the entire nation can tune in and connect with our local community, you included!
There will be cameos from familiar faces talking about living on the Saanich Peninsula, the importance of supporting local businesses and each other during this unique time as well as special Canada Day memories and shout outs!
This virtual celebration will be streamed online on July 1 at 3:00 pm on the Mary Winspear Centre’s Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on the Victoria Buzz Facebook Page.
