IMAX Victoria at Royal BC Museum will reopen this Friday

Share

Victoria residents can once again watch high-definition movies on a six-storey high screen starting this week.

After three and a half months of closure, IMAX Victoria located at the Royal BC Museum will welcome audiences once more starting Friday, July 3.

This decision comes after B.C. announced its transition into Phase 3 of the COVID-19 Restart Plan which allows businesses like hotels, resorts, and movie theatres to reopen.

In keeping with orders of the provincial health officer, IMAX has reduced its theatre capacity to 50 people, providing ample opportunity for patrons to maintain physical distancing.

Fans will have an opportunity to view films that were aired before the closure of the theatre. IMAX will also be showing the 1980 classic, Raiders of the Lost Ark, from July 3 to 16.

To align with Royal BC Museum schedules, the theatre will run six days a week and will close on Wednesdays.

Patrons can find more information about showtimes and schedules on their website.
