

A 53-year-old man has died and a 58-year-old woman was left with life-threatening injuries after their motorcycle crashed on the Malahat Saturday afternoon.
According to West Shore RCMP, at around 2:50 p.m., a motorcycle travelling in the northbound lane collided with the median.
RCMP traffic reconstructionist attended the scene and the northbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
As of 6:50 p.m., both lanes of the highway were reopened.
According to several witnesses, the motorcycle was seen travelling on the Trans Canada Highway at high speeds and weaving in and out of traffic.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
