Outbreaks

No new health care outbreaks were reported today, and there remain two long-term care facilities and one acute-care facility outbreaks that are currently ongoing.

One community outbreak is ongoing at the Krazy Cherry Fruit Co. in Oliver, B.C. where  four people have tested positive for COVID-19 at this farm.

Those who live and work on the farm are under restrictions to limit further transmission.

“We are concerned about the increase in new cases in recent days as COVID-19 continues to silently circulate in our communities,” reads a joint statement from Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister Adrian Dix on Wednesday.

“While early on, many of our long-term care and assisted living facilities were impacted, most of the new cases are in the broader community.”

Dr. Henry urges people to check the HealthLink BC website for all public alerts about possible exposures to the virus.

Those who may have been exposed are asked to monitor their symptoms, reduce the number of contacts they have, and call 811 to get tested for the virus if they do develop symptoms.
