5 things to do in and around Victoria today, Tuesday July 21st

From taking in a show in VIP style to enjoying live music at one of Victoria’s favourite go-to places, make it a good summer Tuesday.

As you head out to activities and events, please follow the restrictions and guidelines that these businesses require to keep their employees and patrons safe during the pandemic.

As always, wash your hands, wear masks, practice physical distancing, and stay home if you feel sick or show symptoms!

Without further ado, here are five things to do today, Tuesday, July 21st:

VIP Summer Screenings at Oak Bay Beach Hotel

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel has launched its new VIP Summer Screenings. A combination of Classic films and new releases will be presented in their David Foster Foundation Theatre each Tuesday evening throughout the summer.

Little Women will feature this evening. A 2019 American coming-of-age period drama film written and directed by Greta Gerwig. It is the seventh film adaptation of the 1868 novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. The film chronicles the lives of the March sisters—Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth—in Concord, Massachusetts, during the 19th century.

Each ticket includes complimentary parking, one glass of sparkling wine, a bottle of water, local charcuterie board and pre-packed theatre snacks such as popcorn and licorice. Tickets are $40 each and physical distancing measures are in place.

  • When: Doors open at 7:40 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.

Live Music Happy Hour at Pagliacci’s Restaurant

Pagliacci’s will be hosting live bands daily outside on their patio, with no cover and there will be drink specials.

RBCM@Home: Doukhobor Discovery Centre

In the Southern Interior of BC, just off Highway 3 near Castlegar, the Doukhobor Discovery Centre is home to ten historical buildings across ten acres of land where visitors can enjoy indoor and outdoor displays and educational exhibits. Enjoy a virtual visit with Eugene Voykin as your host and learn about early Doukhobor history.

Britpop Tuesday

Enjoy all the wonders of British Pop music by Brett Smith-Daniels at the Bard & Banker this Tuesday! There will be $2 shuck oysters and $7 Guinness on special.

  • Where: Bard & Banker, 1022 Government Street

Neowise Comet – Night Photography

Interested in photographing Neowise comet with other photographers?

This event is to show you how to spot Neowise with the naked eye, and photograph it using your camera and tripod. If you do not have a tripod, bring a jacket or a blanket to stabilize your camera on the railing or ground so you can take a long exposure.

  • When: 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Where: Brentwood bay – Waterfront boardwalk
