We know we have, and the Mary Winspear Centre is bringing it back for a summer concert series featuring exclusive performances to small groups of fans.
Are you ready to get back into the swing of things? Mary Winspear is giving away two tickets to see Alex Cuba next weekend, on a day of your choosing from August 6th – August 9th – contest details are below!
Alex Cuba is a Latin Grammy/Juno winner and singer-songwriter who has a vast musical vision and is not tied to tradition.
Along with his sugarcane-sweet melodies, his pop-soul hooks and powerful guitar riffs smash the typical stereotype of the Latin music landscape.
Born as Alexis Puentes in Artemisa, he was immersed in music at a very young age, joining his father’s group of 24 guitarists.
Alex then went on to study electric and upright bass and touring and recording nationally and internationally.
After relocating to Canada in 1999, Alex went on to record his solo debut album Humo De Tobaco (produced by Martin Terefe), which earned him a Juno award for World Music Album of the Year in 2006, with tours in Canada, Japan and the US.
Tickets for Cuba’s shows next weekend at Mary Winspear Centre are now available for purchase online.
Mary Winspear Centre will be taking all measures to provide a safe, sanitized and comfortable concert setting, following current regulations provided by the provincial government and Worksafe BC.
Each evening they will only be selling a maximum of 50 tickets, and guests will be seated with appropriate physical distancing in between each concert goer.
