Though many may have woken up in a post long weekend haze for other reasons, Victorians were in for a smoky surprise Tuesday morning.
Residents awoke to a thick blanket of smoke thanks to wildfire smoke from Washington state wafting over to B.C. yesterday, so much so that it prompted an air quality warning.
Although it has improved slightly today, the Air Quality Health Index in Victoria and Saanich was rated as a “very high risk” at 10+ on Tuesday — the worst rating possible on the index.
Although jarring, the hazy skies over the CRD yesterday did make for some pretty stellar photographs.
