BC Ferries launches new mobile-friendly website with new features

Share

BC Ferries launched their new mobile-friendly website on Tuesday, offering an interface that fits properly with handheld devices.

In addition to resizing for mobile devices, the new website boasts new features including real-time daily and seasonal schedules for all routes, and travel conditions at major terminals.

Customers will also have more ability to self-manage bookings, including adding, changing, or cancelling reservations.

The website also includes a new trip planner and fare calculator tool, allowing customers to see costs for different routes and ticket types without starting a reservation.

Northern and Central Coast Routes can now be booked and paid for online, including Resident fares. On applicable Northern vessels with direct sailings, cabins and seats are also available to book online in advance.

The BC Ferries and BC Ferries Vacations websites have been combined, which allows customers to choose vacation packages involving over 140 hotels and 35 activities in 65 destinations throughout B.C.

One slight change is that Current Conditions will now show the percentage remaining of a vessel’s capacity, when it used to show the percentage it was full.

BC Ferries says customers can offer comments and suggestions on the website through the Feedback section.
