A fire that destroyed a business in Nanaimo is believed to have been started intentionally.
In a statement released Wednesday, Nanaimo RCMP said a fire was reported at around 4 a.m. Tuesday September 15, 2020, at Previously Enjoyed-Quality Used — a used goods business located at 619 Townsite Road.
Firefighters with the City of Nanaimo broke through the front window and backdoor to gain access and the flame was brought under control by 6 a.m. and preventing from spreading to other businesses.
Video surveillance footage from an adjacent business showed a grainy photo of a man and woman walking towards the front door of the used goods business just a few minutes before the fire was reported.
They then walked away. Police are working to identify the two suspects.
