Quadra Elementary school was placed under a lockdown Thursday morning in response to a report of a man with a gun.
In a tweet posted at 9:37 a.m., School District 61 said that the school was in lockdown and tagged VicPD, saying there would be more details to follow.

Victoria Police tweeted at 9:44 a.m. that officers were responding to an unconfirmed report of a man with a firearm.
Nearby residents and people in local businesses were asked to keep indoors. Police also asked the public to avoid the 2500-block of Quadra Street.

At 10:09 a.m., VicPD tweeted that a man had been taken into custody and a replica firearm had been seized.
They added that the area would be reopening to traffic soon.
