5 things to do in and around Victoria today, Wednesday October 21st

Halloween is right around the corner…are you ready for a spooktacular end to the month? In the meantime, here are some great things to do in Victoria!

As you head out to activities and events, please follow the restrictions and guidelines that these businesses require to keep their employees and patrons safe during the pandemic.

As always, wash your hands, wear masks, practice physical distancing, and stay home if you feel sick or show symptoms!

Without further ado, here are five things to do today, Wednesday October 21st:

Chef’s Table: 7-Course Harvest Dinner

Chef Branko and his culinary team will prepare an amazing 7-course tasting experience showcasing the very best of Vancouver Island’s Harvest (Vegan and gluten free options will be available). The menu includes expertly curated wine and cocktail pairings. Please inform us in advance of any other allergies and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Tables are limited to 6 or fewer guests, will be a minimum of 6 feet apart, and all regular COVID-19 safety protocols will be in effect. Tickets are extremely limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

$125 per ticket (including gratuity) with $10 from each ticket donated to The Women’s Transition House charity. Ticket price includes all wine/cocktail pairings.

Nerd Nite Victoria October 2020

Nerd Nite is an international event that takes place once a month in many cities all around the world! They have just started here in Victoria BC in the Victoria Event Centre, featuring three speakers, 20-25 minute talks on a variety of topics, with a beer and a laugh. This month’s speakers include:

– Eric Janusson – Chemistry and AI
– Pramodh Yapa – Physics of superfluids
– Nienke van der Marel – Telescopes, where and why

The Flame – Stories from the IBPoC Community

The Belfry Theatre presents an online storytelling event: The Flame – Stories from the IBPoC Community. Hosted by Deborah Williams & Michelle Poirier Brown and featuring new storytellers June Yeo, Neha Sharma, Jasmindra Jawanda, and more, along with special guest Tammy Hu.

Rent an entire arcade

Quazar’s Arcade is open on a private rental basis during the COVID-19 pandemic. But that means you can book the entire arcade for you and up to 19 friends, in a 2-hour block where every game is on free play mode. Rentals are $350 plus GST.

RBCM@Home (Kids)

The Royal BC Museum presents their latest @Home Webinar, this time in partnership with Pacific Opera Victoria.

Singers, actors and dancers know how to get their voices and bodies ready to go. If you like to sing, dance or even just talk, join dancer Geoff Malcolm and opera singer Anna Shill as they lead you through their favourite warm-ups for body and voice, including some great tongue twisters.
