Victoria Police have arrested one man in connection with a break-and-enter at a construction site in James Bay.
According to a statement from VicPD, police were called to a construction site in the 500 block of Michigan Street at around 3 a.m. Friday morning for reports of a break-in.
The suspect was spotted by security on patrol who saw him breaking into the site on CCTV, and called 911.
VicPD patrol officers and a K9 unit responded to the call and when they spotted the suspect, called for him to stop.
“The suspect ran from officers, climbed over a fence in an effort to escape and fled on foot,” says VicPD in a statement.
“Patrol officers spotted him and gave chase on foot.”
He was captured and arrested in a short distance and taken into custody. Police say no one was injured in this encounter.
The suspect was released on conditions pending a future court date, and faces recommended charges for break and enter.
