VicPD were called to two separate reports of men wielding knives on Wednesday but were only able to locate one suspect.

Police were called at approximately 3:45 p.m. for a report of a man armed with a knife at Centennial Square.

As officers responded, 911 received multiple calls about a second, unrelated incident involving another man armed with a knife.

The reports in the second incident said the man was chasing someone through the 500-block of Ellice Street in Rock Bay.

Officers and a K-9 unit responded to the Rock Bay call and took a man into custody for breaching conditions.

They also found an apparent victim on scene, but he was not cooperative and was not physically injured.

Officers were unable to locate a suspect in the Centennial Square incident.

Both incidents remain under investigation and VicPD are asking witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who has information about either incident is asked to call the VicPD non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654 extension 1.

Those who wish to report information anonymously can call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
