Campbell River RCMP were called to smoke out a report of a handgun but found a slightly more half-baked item instead.

Police responded to the area behind the Save-On Foods on Dogwood Street in Campbell River on November 13, 2020.

According to RCMP, they had received a report that a group of people in a car were passing around a handgun.

Upon arrival shortly after 4 p.m., police found that the “gun” was actually a bong that was being passed around in the vehicle.

One person in the vehicle was arrested for unrelated criminal acts.

According to the RCMP, the call was one of 294 files the force handled from November 9th and 15th.
