The United Way is hosting Greater Victoria’s largest virtual holiday office party this December, and you’re invited.
Meet online with your family members, friends and coworkers and celebrate the season from the comfort of your own home.
United Way Greater Victoria (UWGV) is bringing some sparkle to #YYJ in partnership with the Fairmont Empress, DEVINE Distillery & Winery, and various local artisans.
The best part? It’s all for a good cause.
Funds raised by the party will go towards United Way’s More than Meals program, which supports seniors who have a limited ability to cook for themselves. It also offers these seniors critically important social visits and connections to the outside world.
Sign up and you’ll receive a holiday kit complete with a 100 ml bottle of DEVINE Honey Amber Shine rum, cocktail ingredients, sweet treats from the Fairmont Empress and a booklet of items up for auction, including unique arts and crafts by local artisans.
During the festivities Soren Schepkowski, head bartender at Wind Cries Mary will take you through two festive cocktails you can make at home during the holidays.
Don’t drink? Don’t worry! Mocktail options for the holiday kit are available too.
Party organizers also encourage you to deck out your room for the Zoom call, with all types of sparkle. And, as an added incentive, the winner of a “deck your halls” contest will receive a $100 gift card to Peninsula Co-op.
“This holiday season will obviously be very different due to COVID-19, but the desire and spirit to come together with friends and family in a safe and fun manner is highly appealing so we came up with the idea to host a virtual holiday office party like no other,” said Mark Breslauer, CEO of United Way Greater Victoria.
“It’s a win-win-win for all – the ticket price helps feed isolated seniors in our community, celebrates local businesses, and provides people with a venue to get their sparkle on for the season with friends, family and/or coworkers.”

- Cost: Individual ticket: $50, Group ticket rate (for your ‘safe six’ from each of your homes or well distanced with your work team): $250. Tax receipt available for a portion of ticket price.
