Helijet flight to Nanaimo added to COVID-19 exposure list

Share

A Helijet flight from Vancouver to Nanaimo has been added to the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC)’s list of COVID-19 exposures.

The affected trip was flight 901 on December 11, which regularly runs Monday to Friday at 7:45 a.m.

Affected rows were not specified in the report, however, Helijet’s fleet of Sikorsky S76 helicopters which service the route only seat 12 passengers and two pilots.

In cases where rows are specified, the BCCDC says that passengers in the listed rows should consider themselves at higher risk due to their proximity to the case.

All passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

Effective March 27, the BCCDC is no longer notifying passengers on affected flights about potential exposures. The information on affected flights is posted publicly on the BCCDC website.

Two more flights to Victoria were recently added to the list of public exposures to COVID-19.
