Ladysmith thrift store closes temporarily after multiple cases of COVID-19

A thrift store in Ladysmith has announced they will close temporarily after multiple volunteers tested positive for COVID-19.

Ladysmith Healthcare Auxiliary Thrift Store announced the closure on their Facebook page on Monday at 10:26 a.m., saying that they learned of the first positive case on November 26.

The store says that the first infected volunteer last worked on November 16, but two more volunteers also tested positive on November 28.

The volunteers have all been in contact with public health authorities and are self-isolating.

Ladymith Healthcare Auxiliary Thrift Store says they made the decision to close on the 28th, and will remain closed until December 14.

They are also taking steps to contact all volunteers who came into close contact with the infected individuals.

Volunteers and customers who were in the store from Nov 16 to 28 are asked to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and to call 811 to arrange testing.
