Suspect arrested after man stabbed and two others pepper sprayed in Victoria

Victoria Police have arrested one man after a stabbing left one person suffering from potentially life threatening injuries and two others with injuries related to a bear spray deployment.

In a statement released Monday, police say they are investigating a stabbing that took place at around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, in the 100 block of Gorge Road East.

The victim of the stabbing was taken to hospital, while two others sustained non-life threatening injuries after they were bear sprayed.

After preliminary investigations, police learned that the suspect in this incident had fled to a nearby multi-unit temporary housing facility in the same block.

He was arrested, transported to cells and held for court.

The suspect faces recommended charges of three counts of assault and one count of aggravated assault.

He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a robbery and breach of probation charge.

The victim of the stabbing remains in hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.
