Thieves steal $1,000 worth of presents from Victoria family vehicle

Victoria Police is using a cautionary tale to warn residents never to leave their holiday presents in their vehicles.

In a statement released Friday morning, police say they are investigating after a person reported that presents had been stolen from their vehicle which was parked overnight in the 1100-block of View Street.

The victim reported that about $1,000 worth of presents were stolen.

No suspects have yet been identified.

Police are using this incident as a warning to others who may be leaving presents inside their vehicles this time of year.

“While COVID-19 has changed how many are shopping this year, VicPD officers are reminding you not to leave presents and packages unattended in your vehicle,” reads their statement.
