In 2020, we all came together – and in 2021, two Vancouver Island baseball teams want to keep that trend going – even though they’re rivals!
The Victoria HarbourCats and Nanaimo NightOwls have partnered with Arbutus RV to gather food donations for their inaugural “FILL THE RV“ event.
On Friday, January 1st from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the two teams will be accepting food donations in a safe and contactless way, in accordance with all current health restrictions.
In Victoria, in partnership with Mustard Seed, the drive-thru event will take place at Save-On-Foods in Saanich, across from Uptown Shopping Centre.
Nanaimo’s drive will take place at Third Street Ballparks parking lot, a block west of Serauxmen Stadium.
Both events will run between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. this Friday, January 1st and will be drive-thru in nature; HarbourCats and NightOwls staff and volunteers will be on hand to take donations from cars, with minimal contact and in keeping with all health protocols in place at this time.
“Let’s FILL THE RV in both cities, to help those who need it most, as we find our way out of this pandemic,” said Jim Swanson, Managing Partner and GM of both teams.
