Warning issued for Greater Victoria as winds expected to reach up to 70 km/h Wednesday

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria that is expected to peak mid-day Wednesday.

According to the weather agency, a robust frontal system will be approaching Vancouver Island Wednesday morning.

Ahead of the frontal system strong southeasterly winds will develop over Victoria. At the peak the southeasterly winds will be 70 km/h near the water mid Wednesday afternoon.

By later Wednesday evening, the winds will ease from the southeast and become strong out of the west.

Winds will ease by Thursday morning but it will remain breezy through Thursday.
