The BC Coroner’s Service is investigating after a body was recovered from Brentwood Bay Friday morning.
Eyewitnesses say that the body was retrieved from the waters near the Brentwood Bay Ferry Terminal.
Central Saanich Police have said that the incident does not appear suspicious.
Coroners arrived on scene at approximately 9:30 a.m., and have taken over the investigation to determine details surrounding the victim’s death.
The investigation is ongoing, and a representative for the BC Coroners Service says that the identity of the victim cannot be confirmed at this time to protect their privacy under the Coroners Act.
