Lake Cowichan Secondary School has confirmed in a Facebook post that they have had a  COVID-19 exposure.

Island Health said in a letter, which was included in the social media post, that potential exposure dates at the school were January 20th, 21st, 22nd and 25th.

The health district continued on to say that they have completed contact tracing to identify students or staff that need to self-isolate or self-monitor for symptoms, and that the individual who tested positive is currently isolating.

“This was a very limited exposure and all those who were potentially exposed have been contacted,” the school’s Facebook post about the exposure notification says.

“However, this is a good reminder to our community to not let their guard down and keep vigilant about mask-wearing, hand washing and social distancing.”

Lake Cowichan Secondary School joins several other schools on Vancouver Island who have reported positive cases of COVID-19, including one at Ballenas Secondary School just a few days ago, as well as École Macaulay Elementary School in Victoria.
