Oak Bay Police are investigating a report of a suspicious male who was seen near the Oak Bay Recreation Centre talking to youths.

A 14-year-old complainant told officers that on December 30th at about 2:15 p.m. she had been approached by a stranger.

The youth said she was walking in the area with friends and saw the man place a small teddy bear on the sidewalk.

When she picked up the teddy bear, the man approached her and engaged her in conversation.

Police responded to the area to look for the man and made inquiries with neighbourhood residents.

On Monday, the youth said she saw the man in the same area again, and saw the bear on the sidewalk as well.

The man is described as between 25 to 35 years old, 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, with black hair. He was also riding a white bicycle.
