RCMP ask public for help to locate missing Courtenay woman (UPDATED)

UPDATE: RCMP have located 28-year-old Chelsea Poirier who was reported missing on January 3rd. She is safe and sound and RCMP are thanking the public and media for their assistance in locating her safely.

The Comox Valley RCMP is asking the public for help to locate a missing 28-year-old Courtenay woman last seen in December.

Chelsea Poirier was reported missing to the RCMP on January 3, 2021. She was last seen in Courtenay on December 22, 2020.

Poirier was wearing large black outdoor pants, a dark coloured jacket, a light coloured rain jacket, and a black toque with a red/white square logo on the back.

She was also carrying a large hiking backpack and an umbrella.

Poirier is a white woman with brown hair and blue eyes. She is approximately 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 100 pounds.

Anyone who sees Chelsea Poirier or who has information on her whereabouts is asked to  call the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321.
