West Shore RCMP are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver that crashed into a home in the View Royal area Monday evening.
Police say the incident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. near the 200 block of Island Highway on January 18th.
Officers learned that a minivan had crashed into a parked car, as well as the front steps of a home nearby, before backing away and taking off.
The collision severely damaged the front steps and the foundation of the home, as well as the suspect’s vehicle. The homeowner told officers that the van had fled westbound on Island Highway.
A patrol of the area failed to locate the suspect vehicle. Investigators are not searching for the vehicle and its driver.
The suspect vehicle is described as:
- Silver or Grey minivan;
- Licence plate possibly beginning with
JT9
; - Heavy front-end damage;
- Possibly has broken windows
