Teenaged suspect sought in Duncan sexual assault

Duncan RCMP are searching for a teenaged suspect after a woman reported she had been groped while out walking her dog.

The Duncan woman told police she was in the area of Howard Avenue and Alexander Street on January 24 at 6:30 p.m.

She says she was passed by a young man who reached out and touched her inappropriately.

North Cowichan/Duncan officers began a sexual assault investigation and performed an immediate search of the area.

The suspect was described as approximately 17 years old, with medium dark hair, wearing a blue medical mask and black skinny pants.

He was also wearing a black hoodie sweater with white writing on the front, with the hood up.

Investigators are looking for witnesses or people who may have video or dashcam surveillance from the area on the night in question.

Those who have footage or saw anything in the vicinity of Howard Avenue, Alexander Street, or Chesterfield Avenue on January 24, 2021 around 6:30 p.m. should call the detachment at 250-748-5522 and reference file #2021-1317.
