Three Cowichan Valley schools report COVID-19 exposures

Share

Three different schools in the Cowichan Valley have reported COVID-19 exposures over the last week.

On their Facebook pages, Cowichan Secondary School, Quamichan School and Duncan Christian School all reported exposures, ranging from January 5th to January 8th.

In each report, a single individual tested positive for COVID-19. The dates for each exposure event were:

  • Cowichan Secondary School, January 5th to 7th, 2021
  • Quamichan School, January 5th, 2021
  • Duncan Christian School, January 6th to 8th, 2021

Island Health says the individuals in each case are self-isolating. Phone calls and letters have been sent to staff and parents of students who have been identified as coming in close contact with infected individuals.

Those who received a phone call will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days, while those who received a letter will be asked to self-monitor for symptoms.

Anyone who did not receive a phone call or letter is advised to continue attending school as normal.
