A VicPD drug raid led to the arrest of two suspects and the seizing of a loaded assault-style rifle Wednesday afternoon.
Police say they had learned a man in a downtown hotel in the 700-block of Burdett Avenue was in possession of drugs and a firearm.
Late in the afternoon on January 6th, officers executed a warrant on the hotel room and arrested the man and a woman who was with him.
A search of the apartment produced drugs and cash in amounts large enough for trafficking purposes. Officers also found a loaded, semi-automatic, assault-style rifle with a folding stock.
VicPD says the rifle had a round in the chamber and the safety was off.
The male suspect has been held in custody on 15 charges including firearms-related offences, possession for the purpose of trafficking and breaches of court-ordered conditions.
